There are many experts out there who will give you the opinion they think you want to hear. David calls it as he sees it and that is critical for me. I want to properly evaluate the claim through an objective lens. David does that and through an objective lens. I highly recommend David Sweeney.
“We retained David as a police practices expert in a civil rights case involving a SWAT-style raid into the homes of two families. Although neither family was the subject of police investigation, the defendants litigated the case vigorously, maintaining that exigencies justified their conduct and shielded them from liability. David did a great job explaining, both in his reports and under tough questioning at deposition, why that analysis was wrong. We ultimately obtained a significant financial settlement for our clients, and the city, during the course of the litigation, made important changes to its policies concerning the service of warrants. David was accessible, pleasant and easy to work with, and knowledgeable about all manner of police practice issues that were relevant to our case.”
David got back to me quickly and didn’t pull any punches.
When you’re in the attorney’s shoes, you don’t want an expert who will say whatever- you want an expert who will share their candid opinions. David does just that.
David understands the nuances of policing forward and backwards. I would highly recommend him as an expert in a policing case.
Dear David:
Please accept my sincere appreciation for your testimony at your January 17, 2022 Deposition by Defendants in the above-referenced matter. Your preparation, including review of voluminous Discovery as well as applicable Montana law, and total recall in response to four (4) hours of continuous questioning, was exemplary.
My clients and I are fortunate to have retained you as an expert in the case. Not only do you have decades of field and supervisory law enforcement experience, but you also, importantly, possess an unflagging sense of honor - a rare and noble quality!
Thank you, David, for being 'in our corner'!
